HAWTHORN star recruit Shaun Burgoyne will be sidelined for up to six weeks after suffering a broken jaw while playing for the Box Hill Hawks in the VFL.
The former Port Adelaide midfielder - who left the field with bleeding from the mouth with a loose tooth following a head clash with rugged Geelong utility Max Rooke during the second quarter of Sunday's game - returned to play out the match but underwent scans after the match which revealed a fracture under the tooth.
A specialist confirmed on Monday afternoon that Burgoyne would be sidelined for three to six weeks.
