PORT ADELAIDE defender Alipate Carlile has signed a two-year contract extension which will see him remain at the Power until at least the end of the 2011 season.
Port's football operations manager Peter Rohde said Carlile, who has played 39 games since debuting in 2006, is a vital part of the club's defence.
Quality key defenders are a vital part of any successful club and in our view Alipate Carlile is one of the best young key defenders going around," Rodhe said.
"It's easy to forget Bobby has just turned 22, as he plays with great maturity and authority. It is also a tribute to both our recruiting and development staff that Bobby has progressed as quickly as he has."
