Cats stars plea for return of jumpers

GEELONG premiership stars Joel Selwood and James Bartel have made a public plea for the return of their grand final jumpers.
The midfielders packed their guernseys away after the win over St Kilda last Saturday but when they returned to the club on Tuesday to pick up their bags the jumpers were nowhere to be seen.
Selwood said at this stage they would not be involving police.
"We just want to get them back and if we can do it in the right way then hopefully it's just a misunderstanding and someone has picked them up and can bring them back to us safely," Selwood said.
"We just hope that the person has a change of heart and just gets it back to the football club or the police station in Geelong anyway they want and at the moment we're happy not to press charges … we just want them back and if the police has to get involved later on down the track then we'll look at doing that."
Bartel said the loss of his premiership jumper hadn't taken any gloss off the club's second flag in three years and that he was hopeful the culprit would do the 'right thing'.
"Obviously disappointing more than anything … not losing sleep about it but hopefully someone has a turn of heart. You can't sell it because people will pick up on it and you'd be pretty gutsy to hang it on your wall," Bartel said.
"Hopefully they do the right thing and just hand it back."
"It's pretty personal and pretty special."
