FORMER West Coast captain Ben Cousins' stint with VFL club Port Melbourne has ended before it began.
The 30-year-old has decided to train with East Fremantle and Perth for the remainder of year in a bid to ressurect his AFL career next season.
The 2005 Brownlow medallist was sacked by the Eagles late last season and subsequently suspended for a year by the AFL for bringing the game into disrepute following a series of off-field indiscretions.
