Cousins expected to play

RICHMOND skipper Chris Newman expects star midfielder Ben Cousins to play in the season opener against Carlton on March 25 despite being hospitalised twice in the past week with abdominal pain.
Newman said Cousins' performance at training on Thursday suggested he had put the problem behind him.
"He trained this morning and looks very well," Newman said.
"It didn't look like much was fazing him so I think he will play."
"All the indicators say that he will (play), as I said he trained really well this morning and looks fit and is up and about."
