ADELAIDE has moved back into the top eight with a 24-point win over Sydney at the SCG on Saturday night.
The Crows' 11.11 (77) to 6.17 (53) victory ended a five-match losing streak and was their ninth win in their past ten meetings against the Swans.
It was Sydney's third loss in its past four matches and was another lost opportunity to consolidate a position in the top four.
The contest failed to reach any great heights with the first 15 minutes of each quarter goal free while the third term produced just seven behinds.
Chris Knights and Tyson Edwards were busy contributors in the middle for Adelaide with 27
possessions apiece while Jason Porplyzia showed his class with five goals.
For Sydney, Ryan O'Keefe (35 possessions) tried hard all night but failed to have an impact on the scoreboard while Brett Kirk collected 27 disposals.
Barry Hall was well held by Ben Rutten in his comeback game, managing just one goal late in the match.
The Swans kicked the first goal of the match through Darren Jolly but the rest of the term belonged to the Crows.
After missing their first five shots on goal Adelaide slotted three in two minutes to open up a nine-point lead at quarter-time.
Adelaide should have been further in front but failed to make the most of their chances, booting a wayward 3.6 for the term.
The Crows broke the game open in the second term, booting five goals to two with Porplyzia kicking three for the quarter as Adelaide took a handy 23-point lead into the main break.
The Swans trailed by 21 points at three-quarter time after neither side managed to kick a goal in the third term.
Sydney had their chances but failed to capitalise in front of goal, hitting the post six times in the second half, including costly misses from Hall, O'Keefe and Jarrad McVeigh in the final term.
A long goal from Brad Symes opened the scoring at the five-minute mark of the final term before Porplyzia secured the four premiership points for the Crows with his fourth major.
