ADELAIDE has defeated Melbourne by two points in a NAB Challenge match Elizabeth Oval on Saturday.
Kurt Tippett kicked five goals, including the match-winner as the Crows prevailed 9.15 (69) to 10.7 (67).
The Demons' loss was made worse with exciting forward Liam Jurrah and defender Daniel Bell suffering shoulder injuries in the first term.
The pair will undergo scans on Sunday to determine the extent of the damage.
Midfielder Nathan Jones was also a casuallty for Melbourne with an ankle injury.
Adelaide veteran Tyson Edwards won plenty of the football while skipper Simon Goodwin and Ben Rutten were solid in defence.
For the Demons, draftees Tom Scully and Jack Trengrove showed their class in the middle while Ricky Petterd booted four majors.
The Crows jumped out of the blocks - booting the first three goals of the match - two of which came from Tippett - before Melbourne had entered inside 50.
The Dees lifted their rating late in the term and trailed by just two points at quarter-time.
Melbourne handled the greasy and blustery conditions better than Adelaide in the second term and went into the main break with a 19-point lead after booting four unanswered goals.
Tippett sparked the Crows back into action in the third term with two goals as Neil Craig's men went into the final change with a slender advantage.
The lead changed hands several times in the last quarter before Tippett won a free kick with only a few seconds remaining and made no mistake from close range.
