Did Geelong make the right decision: Have your say

September 26th 2006 00:26
The announcement yesterday that Mark Thompson would continue as coach next season ended months of speculation at the club.

But did chief executive Brian Cook and the board, which voted unamiously in Thompson's favour make the right decision.

I thought that of all the current AFL coaches, Thompson deserved to be sacked the most. I can't believe he has been there for 7 years already! In that time he should have done something, and I guess the semi final appearance last year is what saved him.

In the end I think that giving him 1 more season may turn out to be a good move, who knows next year he might get them into the Grand Final, but I'm sure the board will sack him if Geelong misses the finals again next year.
