Docker calls it a day

FREMANTLE veteran Heath Black has announced his retirement from AFL football, effective immediately.
The 29-year-old struggled with a hip complaint in 2008, managing just six games.
Black, who played 54 games for St Kilda and 138 for the Dockers said injuries had finally got the better of him.
“Due to hip injuries and now my shoulder the time has come where injuries have got the better of me and it is time to move on,” Black said.
“I had an interrupted pre-season and I ended up stewing on this decision pretty much all year.
“Once I reached the decision, the realisation was quite overwhelming. To be able to just sit and watch the boys in the derby (against West Coast) at the weekend knowing that I was on the sidelines was actually quite a relief.”
Fremantle chief executive Steve Rosich said although Black was contracted until the end of next season, the player and his management had reached an agreement with the club that was suitable to all parties.
