Eagles re-sign key duo

July 28th 2008 03:54
WEST COAST utility Quinten Lynch and midfielder Matt Rosa have signed new deals with the club.

A club spokesman said it was not "club policy" to reveal the length of the new contracts and even refused to detail when the duo's current contracts expired.

Lynch has been one of West Coast's most consistent performers in 2008, playing every game this season while Rosa has not played since round 10 due to shin-splints, but he remains an important part of the club's future.

Meanwhile, long-serving fitness coach Stuart Cormack has accepted a position with Essendon.

Cormack, who has been with West Coast for eight seasons said he was moving back to Victoria for family reasons.

"I have two kids under the age of two and my wife and I have no immediate family support in WA. I love the footy club and have thoroughly enjoyed my time here, but we need to go back to Melbourne," Cormack said.

"If it was purely a professional decision I would never leave. The club has been terrific to me, I have the greatest respect for everyone at the club and would have enjoyed being involved in the process of building the team back towards finals contention
