WESTERN BULLDOGS midfielder Nathan Eagleton has signed a new one-year deal with the club.
The 31-year-old's recommitment to the Bulldogs comes just two days after teammate Jason Akermanis put pen to paper.
Like the three-time premiership player and 2001 Brownlow medallist, Eagleton will be on a reduced pay packet in 2010.
"The fact that Nathan has committed to the club for another season once again shows the tremendous belief this group has in its potential," Dogs football operations manager James Fantasia said.
'Like 'Aker', we were unable to offer Nathan a contract that reflects his importance to our club but he has decided to put team success ahead of personal gain."
Eagleton said he loves being a part of the club and was looking forward to starting pre-season training.
"The club bought me across from Port Adelaide and since then the Whitten Oval has become a second home for me," Eagleton said.
"The players just want to give this club the success it craves."
Eagleton enjoyed one of the best seasons of his career in 2009, playing all of the club's 25 matches and collecting a career-high 488 possessions and booting 18 goals.
Since crossing over from the Power at the end of 1999, Eagleton has has played 205 games for the Western Bulldogs for a career total of 261.
Eagleton, who is currently holidaying overseas, will begin pre-season training on November 23.
In other news, St Kilda has delisted defender Leigh Fisher and rookie Brad Howard.
Taken with pick 46 in the 2002 national draft, Fisher played 55 games for the Saints but failed to play a match since midway through the 2008 season.
St Kilda has also officially delisted former skipper Luke Ball who informed the club earlier in the week that he would be nominating for the national draft which will be held on November 26.
