Fiora accepts

ST KILDA midfielder Aaron Fiora will miss Sunday's crucial clash against Fremantle at Subiaco Oval after accepting a one-match ban for striking Collingwood first-gamer John McCarthy at the MCG last Saturday night.
It is a must-win match for the Saints who have slumped to eighth place on the AFL ladder with three rounds remaining following their 14-point loss to the Magpies. If they lose to the Dockers this weekend they would drop from the top eight if either Brisbane beats the Western Bulldogs or Carlton beats the Kangaroos.
The match review panel ruled the level two striking offence as intentional conduct, low impact and body contact.
This resulted in Fiora receiving 125 points but that rose to 170 because of his previous record. The penalty could not be reduced with an early plea because of Fiora's carry-over points from last year.
