NORTH MELBOURNE veteran Shannon Grant will miss Saturday night's crucial clash against Port Adelaide at AAMI Stadium after being suspended by the club for unacceptable behaviour at a sponsors' golf day.
Grant was one of several players to attend the North Melbourne Golf Classic at the Sandhurst Club during the split round. But it is understood his behaviour during the event angered club officials.
North Melbourne released a statement saying the 31-year-old had broken team rules.
"The North Melbourne Football Club has suspended Shannon Grant for one match as a result of a breach of the club's player code of conduct," the club said.
"The club will make no further comment on the issue."
