Is interstate dominance good for the game: Have your say
August 23rd 2006 04:36
With only two weeks of the regular season left, and four of the top five spots occupied by interstate teams, it's more than likely that the premiership will be leaving Victoria once again, with Melbourne the only real threat.
No Victorian club has won the flag since the great Essendon side of 2000, and the Bombers are currently in a do-or-die struggle with Carlton for this year's wooden spoon.
So is the dominance of interstate sides bad for the game, as some so-called experts have suggested in the past week?

I think at the end of the day, Victoria has about 4 times the population of WA or SA, but 5 times as many teams. I believe that if 2 Victorian teams move or merge leaving just 8, then the interstate dominance will end.
