Jackson to miss three matches

May 18th 2010 10:25

RICHMOND midfielder Daniel Jackson will miss three matches after the Tigers failed to have his head-butting charge overturned at the AFL Tribunal on Tuesday night.

The 24-year-old - who was cited for head-butting Hawthorn's Campbell Brown in the final term of Richmond's three-point loss at the MCG on Sunday - could have accepted a two-match ban with an early guilty plea.

But the Tigers argued that the contact made with Brown was too light to constitute a head-butt, and that Jackson's action was involuntary due to being bumped by Brown moments earlier.

The tribunal disagreed on both counts, meaning Jackson will miss matches against Essendon, Port Adelaide and St Kilda.
