King to contest ban
March 10th 2010 01:40

RICHMOND tagger Jake King has elected to contest the two-match ban handed down to him for striking Collingwood forward Travis Cloke during last Friday's NAB Challenge match at Visy Park.
King was charged with a level three striking offence after the match review panel conducted an investigation into the incident which included interviewing Cloke because the video footage was inconclusive.
Due to an existing bad record King couldn't reduce the two-game sanction with an early guilty plea.
The 25-year-old's case will be heard by the tribunal next Tuesday as any potential suspension would not affect his availability for this week’s NAB Challenge clash with Essendon.
If found guilty King will miss premiership matches against Carlton, the Western Bulldogs and Sydney.
