Ling trains with Cats

GEELONG tagger Cameron Ling looks set to make a sooner than expected return to AFL football after fracturing his cheekbone in the Cats' 74-point win over Fremantle at Skilled Stadium last Saturday.
Ling underwent surgery earlier this week after copping a late hit from Fremantle's Dean Solomon. Solomon was suspended for eight weeks for the incident.
In evidence to the tribunal in Solomon's case, the Cats said they expected Ling to be out for the next three-to-six weeks.
But Ling, who joined his teammates at training today for the first time since surgery is reportedly aiming to return for next Friday's blockbuster clash against Hawthorn at the MCG.
Ling trained for about 20 minutes before leaving the field early
