Lions too good for Port
April 10th 2010 08:46

BRISBANE remains unbeaten in 2010 after recording a 27-point win over Port Adelaide at AAMI Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
The Lions got the early jump and went on to record a 16.12 (108) to 11.15 (81) victory.
The final scoreline flattered Port as Michael Voss' men took their foot off the pedal after booting the first two goals of the last term to blow the margin out to 57 points.
Some of the gloss was taken off the win for Brisbane with star midfielder Simon Black suffering a calf injury while ruckman Mitch Clark and defender Ashley McGrath were reported.
Lions skipper Jonathan Brown continued his superb form with five goals while Justin Sherman chipped in with four majors in his 100th game.
Brendan Fevola kicked three goals and set up several others.
Matthew Leuenberger and Clark dominated a Port ruck division weakened by the late withdrawal of Dean Brogan, combining for 47 hit-outs while Michael Rischitelli was influential with 27 possessions and seven inside 50's.
Steven Salopek was Port's best with 29 disposals and two goals while Kane Cornes collected 30 touches.
Brisbane will now face the Western Bulldogs at the Gabba next Saturday night while the Power will clash with Geelong at Skilled Stadium.
