COLLINGWOOD will not be taking disciplinary action against utility Ryan Cook over his involvement in a fight.
The Magpies said Cook had advised them that he had been in a fight which left a man with facial injuries.
It's understood that the 20-year-old was leaving teammate Scott Pendlebury's 21st birthday party when he got into a fight with two men.
Collingwood said in a statement that Cook will co-operate fully with the police.
"Through the club’s investigation it appears that Ryan acted entirely in self defence and the club will not be taking any disciplinary action against the player," the club statement said.
"The club will be in regular contact with police as they conduct their investigation and will be advised of any new developments."
