WEST COAST midfielder Chris Masten won't require surgery on his injured knee but will still be sidelined for up to six weeks.
The 21-year-old injured his right knee when his leg became caught under Fremantle's Adam McPhee during the second quarter of the Eagles' 38-point loss last Sunday.
Masten revealed the results of scans on West Coast's official website on Tuesday.
"I have damaged the lateral ligament, which means I will be out for only 5-6 weeks," Masten said.
"That’s good news ... relatively speaking."
The young Eagle has his knee in a brace and won't be able to run for three to four weeks.
