McLean out for season
July 1st 2008 02:25
MELBOURNE midfielder Brock McLean will miss the remainder of the season with an ankle injury.
McLean injured his ankle in the first term of the Demons' thrilling one-point win over Brisbane at the MCG on Sunday afternoon but the tough midfielder returned to the field in the second half.
But scans last night showed significant damage, sidelining him for the rest of 2008.
It's another blow for the Demons who have already lost David Neitz to retirement, Russell Robertson to a season-ending achilles injury and key defender Jared Rivers, who will also miss the rest of the year with strained stomach muscles.
