Motlop, Gray ruled out

PORT ADELAIDE duo Daniel Motlop and Robbie Gray have been ruled out of the Power's season opener against North Melbourne at AAMI Stadium on Sunday with hamstring injuries.

Motlop and Gray were given until the last minute to prove their fitness.

"We wanted to just see how they (Motlop and Gray) pulled up and this morning," Port coach Mark Williams said on Saturday.

"They were still a bit sore so we thought we wouldn't play them."

"We want to play fit players because North have certainly got a fit side."


Former Lion Scott Harding, Nick Salter and Matt Thomas are in the running to replace the injured pair.
