Mumford to face tribunal

May 11th 2010 03:10

SYDNEY ruckman Shane Mumford will face the AFL Tribunal on Tuesday night to contest a rough conduct charge.

Mumford - who could have accepted a two-match suspension for his crude tackle on former Geelong teammate Gary Ablett during the last quarter of Sunday's clash at Skilled Stadium - will be risking a three-game ban.

Hawthorn premiership midfielder Chance Bateman will miss three matches for his bump on West Coast youngster Brad Sheppard while Richmond defender Dean Polo will have a one-week stint on the sidelines for his strike on Adelaide's Richard Douglas.

Brisbane ruckman Matthew Leuenberger has accepted a $900 fine for making negligent contact with a field umpire.
