Members in control of Roos

NORTH MELBOURNE is now fully member owned after shareholders and members voted last night in favour of the Board's proposal to dissolve the private ownership.
Kangaroos chairman James Brayshaw said it was a historic night for the club.
"This is a seminal moment in the North Melbourne Football Club's history," he said.
"I think it was absolutely necessary that we returned the club to the members. In 2008, and well into the future it is clear that the best structure of a football club is to be owned by its members."
Brayshaw also paid tribute to the shareholders that have kept the club afloat for years.
"The shareholders have been guardians of the security of the club for a long period of time; they put money into the club to make sure we were here today. Their contribution has been massive and their behaviour over the past six or seven months has been absolutely magnanimous, so we thank them," he said.
The 16 major shareholders have been nominated as club patrons: Bob Ansett, Rayden Crawley, Albert Mantello, Mark Dawson, Greg Miller, Ken Montgomery, Stephen Head, Robert Smith, Alan Johnson and Francis Trainor.
Peter Johnstone, Andrew Carter, John Magowan, Peter De Rauch, Kerry Good, Dennis Morgan were also nominated for life membership at the club.
