FREMANTLE skipper Matthew Pavlich has capped off another stellar season by claiming his fifth best-and-fairest award on Saturday night.
Pavlich polled 30 votes to win by three from ruckman Aaron Sandilands and key defender Luke McPharlin.
NAB Rising Star winner Rhys Palmer finished fourth on 23 votes in his first season of AFL football, two clear of fellow midfielder Ryan Crowley and defender Michael Johnson, who shared fifth position.
Pavlich, who earnt All-Australian honours for the sixth time in 2008 and led the club’s goalkicking with 67 goals, has now won the Doig Medal four years in a row.
