Pies dispose of Blues

COLLINGWOOD has continued its good run of form with a 53-point win over Carlton at the MCG on Sunday afternoon.
The Magpies led by 39 points late in the first half but the Blues lifted and cut the deficit to just three points at the 17-minute mark of the third quarter.
The Pies responded with five of the last six goals of the term before piling on seven majors to three in the final stanza to record a 24.11 (155) to 16.6 (106) win.
It was Collingwood's fifth victory of the season while Carlton now has a 3-3 record.
Dane Swan was impressive with 31 possessions while Scott Pendlebury (29) was also prolific.
The Magpies had 13 individual goal-kickers for the match - Luke Ball, Paul Medhurst and Chris Dawes the most effective with three each.
For the Blues, skipper Chris Judd led from the front with 37 disposals while Setanta O'hAilpin booted a career-best five goals.
