RICHMOND utility Graham Polak has taken another positive step in his long recovery after being hit by a tram in Melbourne on Saturday night.
Polak, who was taken out of intensive care at Melbourne's Alfred Hospital and moved to a general ward on Tuesday, is now eating and is continuing to recognise family members.
But it will still be some time before it is known whether the 24-year-old will make a full recovery after he was placed in an induced coma following the accident.
Richmond released a statement on Wednesday saying 'there has almost been no change to Graham's condition in the last 14-15 hours and doctors say this is not uncommon in these situations'.
"Graham is still very tired and confused and is expected to spend most of today sleeping," the statement said.
