ESSENDON midfielder Adam Ramanauskas says he wants to play on with the Bombers in 2009.
Ramanauskas, who comes out of contract at the end of the season believes the Bombers are capable of winning a premiership within the next five years and he wants to play on next season and help develop Essendon's impressive batch of youngsters.
"I would love to go on, but I haven't even sat down with Knighter (Essendon coach Matthew Knights) yet to discuss that," Ramanauskas said.
"We always said to each other that we would have a go this year and see what happened and if it worked it did and if it didn't it didn't. But I will sit down with him over the next couple of weeks and work out what I am going to do next year."
The 27-year-old also said he would like to play one last game with close friend Jason Johnson, who is likely to retire at the end of the season.
"Jason is going to be training out here today. Hopefully his calf doesn't go on him again and he does get back for those couple of games later in the year," Ramanauskas said.
"Jason is one of my real close mates and I would love to play footy with him again."
