RICHMOND defender Alex Rance will miss up to three weeks with a fractured cheekbone.
Rance sustained the injury in a sickening clash with Brisbane midfielder Troy Selwood in the third quarter of the Tigers' 26-point loss to the Lions at the MCG on Saturday afternoon.
The 19-year-old had plates and screws inserted in his right cheekbone to correct three fractures.
The Tigers intially expected Rance to be sidelined for more than six weeks but that figure has been scaled back to two to three weeks.
