Collingwood rookie Sharrod Wellingham has cost Collingwood it's TAC sponsorship after being pulled over drink driving in Lorne on the weekend.
The sponsorship is believed to be worth around 1.2 million dollars over 3 years, with the deal being in its final year.
Collingwood had been the face of TAC's "Wipe Off Five" campaign to promote driver safety.
Wellingham whoblew 0.13 claimed at his media conference that he was moving a car when caught.
A remorseful Wellingham was fined $5,000 by the Magpies.
President Eddie McGuire also gave his thoughts on the matter, saying that drink driving was dangerous and stupid.
"Colingwood has been sponsored by the TAC for the past seven years and we are extremely proud of what we have achieved in that time.
"We have supported the launch of the Wipe off 5 campaign and other campaigns focusing on drink driving, speeding, fatigue and inexperience.
"It is therefore with regret that we have made this decision. Given our position as a leader in promoting road safety messages in the communtiy, however, we feel it is the right thing to do.
"The importance and credibility of road safety messages is paramount and therefore it is not appropriate for us to remain in a sponsorship partnership with the TAC." McGuire said.
Also in the car were Hawk players Simon Taylor and Lance Franklin.
They escaped without any penalty.
