Roos did not meet Fevola

SYDNEY coach Paul Roos has denied reports he met Brendon Fevola last Saturday in an attempt to convince the Carlton spearhead to join the Swans.
Fevola and his wife Alex were in Sydney on business and the Blues forward had planned to have breakfast with dual Brownlow medallist Adam Goodes on the day the Swans played Collingwood at ANZ Stadium but the arrangement fell through.
However, in his column for the Geelong Advertiser, former Geelong and Essendon ruckman John Barnes claimed Goodes picked up Fevola from a Sydney hotel and delivered him to Roos for a secret breakfast meeting.
Barnes also suggested the Fevola rumours contributed to Barry Hall's troubled state of mind, which resulted in him being stood down indefinitely by the Swans after taking a vicious swing at Collingwood defender Shane Wakelin.
Roos said the rumours linking Fevola to the Swans were frustrating.
"The speculation about Fevola and the Swans I can't control that, but when people write lies about you in the paper, that's when I get frustrated," said Roos.
"It was (my son) Dylan's 14th birthday, and I can assure you that I wasn't going to spend time with Brendan Fevola in lieu of spending time with my son and opening presents.
"It's just a complete lie and it's really disappointing that people just write those things with absolutely no information or background.
"We don't operate like that as a footy club."
