ST KILDA has acquired midfielder Brett Peake from Fremantle in exchange for their number 48 pick in next month's national draft.
Saints coach Ross Lyon said he believes the 26-year-old would be a valuable addition to the club's midfield.
"He comes from a great football pedigree and has proven himself as ball winner and versatile player since debuting in 2005," Lyon said.
"He is a quick player who loves to run and carry the ball and we think he will be a valued addition to the St Kilda midfield unit."
Peake was taken in the 2003 national draft as a father-son selection and kicked 42 goals in 75 games for the Dockers.
The acquisition of Peake comes just a day after St Kilda secured the services of Essendon speedster Andrew Lovett for pick 16.
