Staker, Kennedy out for season

THE season is over for West Coast utility Brent Staker and key forward Josh Kennedy with the pair requiring surgery.
Staker needs an operation on his right thumb which was injured in the first quarter of Sunday's 33-point loss to Fremantle while Kennedy requires a shoulder reconstruction.
Kennedy, who will undergo surgery tomorrow tried to resume full training this week but a PCL injury had not recovered.
Meanwhile, Staker ruptured a ligament in his right thumb and also received a small avulsion fracture. The recovery period after surgery will be six to eight weeks.
