HAWTHORN midfielder Brad Sewell is in doubt for the round 15 match against Sydney at the MCG after undergoing an appendectomy during the week.
Sewell has missed the past four matches with a shoulder injury but was expected to be back to face the Swans.
But he was admitted to hospital on Wednesday suffering stomach pains and had his appendix removed the same day.
The 24-year-old is recovering well and is expected to resume training next week, but he may struggle to prove his fitness for the crucial game against Sydney.
