Shaw, Jolly in Pies' leadership group
March 15th 2010 04:53

FORMER bad boy Heath Shaw and star recruit Darren Jolly have been named in Collingwood's seven-man leadership group.
Harry O'Brien and Shane O'Bree have also been included in the leadership structure after Josh Fraser and Tarkyn Lockyer voluntarily stepped down.
Nick Maxwell will again lead the Magpies in 2010 while young gun Scott Pendlebury and Dane Swan will serve as vice-captain and deputy vice-captain respectively.
Shaw's promotion comes just two years after he was suspended and fined $10,000 by the club for crashing his ute into a parked car while he was nearly three times over the legal alcohol limit and also lying about teammate Alan Didak not being in the car with him.
Collingwood president Eddie McGuire and Maxwell praised Shaw for the way he had matured since his off-field indiscretion.
Maxwell also said Jolly's inclusion was due to his outstanding leadership since crossing over from Sydney during trade week last year.
Meanwhile, the Pies announced they had signed Emirates Airlines as a major sponsor for another five years.
