Should the bump be banned
October 19th 2006 02:59
With the aide of the 16 clubs the AFL is undergoing a review of its match review panel and tribunal system.
Among the rules set to be scrutinised is body contact between players, with a rule change set to make all front-on-bumps reportable in circumstances where the player being bumped has his head over the ball.
Kangaroos coach Dean Laidely last month called for the bump to be banned completely, while Port coach Mark Williams proposed a blanket ban against bumping a player with his head over the ball during the 2005 season.
So should the bump be banned?
