Should the IR's series continue: Have your say
November 6th 2006 04:52
Following a spiteful clash at Dublin's Croke Park the future of the International Rules series has been thrown into grave doubt with Ireland coach Sean Boylan revealing he wanted the game called off at the end of the first quarter.
Boylan blamed the Australians for several punch-ups during the first quarter and vented his anger over a fierce tackle by Danyle Pearce that resulted in Irish star Graham Geraghty being sent to hospital.
AFL chief executive Andrew Demetriou admitted that the first quarter wasn't a great advertisement for the hybrid game and said the league and the Gaelic Athletic Association would need to sit down and review the match and discuss the future of the series.
Do you think the International Rules series should continue. Have your say.
