Skipper blow for Hawks
March 17th 2010 08:21

HAWTHORN has suffered yet another hit to its ruck department with rookie Wayde Skipper ruled out for up to eight weeks with a hamstring injury.
The former Bulldog left the field in the first half of the Hawks' final practice match against Brisbane at Southport last Friday reporting knee instability.
Scans revealed damage to his hamstring tendon and he underwent surgery on Wednesday to repair the problem.
The loss of Skipper is a major blow for the Hawks as they had planned on promoting him to the senior list to provide support to Brent Renouf in the ruck given that Simon Taylor (leg) and Max Bailey (knee) are sidelined for extended periods, while Robert Campbell is no longer available after being forced into retirement at the end of last season due to a debilitating knee injury.
