Solomon's season over

FREMANTLE veteran Dean Solomon's season is over after being hit with a eight-week suspension at the AFL tribunal on Tuesday night.
Solomon was reported for striking Geelong tagger Cameron Ling during the first quarter of the Dockers' 74-point loss to the Cats at Skilled Stadium on Saturday.
Ling, who suffered a depressed fracture of the cheekbone as a result of the incident had surgery on Sunday and is expected to miss up to four matches.
The penalty means Solomon will miss the rest of the season and the first game for premiership points in 2009. He will also carry 82.81 points once he returns.
In some good news for the Dockers, midfielder Ryan Crowley was found not guilty of striking Geelong star Gary Ablett Jnr. The tribunal said it was not convinced he had made more than negligible contact.
Meanwhile, Kangaroos defender Daniel Pratt is free to play against Collingwood at Telstra Dome on Friday night after being found not guilty of making unnecessary contact to the face of Port Adelaide’s Brett Ebert. Pratt successfully argued that the contact was accidental.
