HAWTHORN ruckman Simon Taylor is free to play in Friday night's clash against Essendon at Etihad Stadium after being cleared of a rough conduct charge at the AFL Tribunal on Tuesday night.
Taylor was facing a three-match ban after being charged with engaging in rough conduct against Carlton's Setanta O'hAilpin during the third quarter of the Hawks' thrilling four-point win at the MCG last Saturday.
But the Hawks successfully argued that the contact was not intentional and not excessive.
