Ten to broadcast season opener live

CHANNEL Ten will broadcast Thursday night's blockbuster clash between Richmond and Carlton at the MCG live into Victoria after coming under fire for initially announcing that the match would be shown on delay.

The network had planned to show the match on a 30-minute delay because it was offically sold out on Tuesday but Ten bowed to pressure and will begin its broadcast at 7.30pm local time.
