October 14th 2006 04:32
Hawthorn was today advised that Bret Thornton intends to remain at the Carlton Football Club for 2007.
Thornton’s manager, Anthony McConville informed General Manager Player Personnel and Strategy, Chris Pelchen and explained due to the uncertainty of the forthcoming AFL pre season draft and the constraints of Carlton having selection No.1, that he will commence contract negotiations with the Blues.
"While the Club is disappointed we understand Bret’s decision not to nominate for the pre season draft and respect his wishes to remain at Carlton,"Pelchen said.
