Three to face AFL Tribunal
July 15th 2008 02:29
FREMANTLE duo Dean Solomon and Ryan Crowley and North Mebourne defender Daniel Pratt will face the AFL Tribunal tonight.
Solomon's case for striking Geelong tagger Cameron Ling with an elbow at Skilled Stadium on Saturday was deemed serious enough to be referred directly to the tribunal.
Ling, who suffered a depressed fracture of the cheekbone as a result of the incident had surgery on Sunday and is expected to miss up to four matches.
Crowley is contesting a charge that he struck Geelong's Gary Ablett Jnr in the first quarter on Saturday and faces a one match suspension if he's unsuccessful.
Pratt risks a three-match ban for his challenge to a charge that he made unreasonable or unnecessary contact to the face of Port Adelaide forward Brett Ebert during Saturday night's thrilling two-point win over the Power at AAMI Stadium.
Meanwhile, Sydney's Amon Buchanan will miss the next four matches for his high contact on Hawthorn's Luke Hodge, while West Coast midfielder Daniel Kerr has accepted a three-match sanction for striking Tiger Matthew White during the third quarter of the Eagles' 77-point loss to Richmond at Subiaco Oval on Sunday.
Adelaide's Richard Douglas was fined $1,950 fine making contact with umpire Stephen McBurney at the MCG on Saturday, while Melbourne's Colin Sylvia has accepted a reprimand for striking the Bulldogs' Dale Morris.
