ADELAIDE midfielder Bernie Vince has celebrated his 24th birthday by winning his first club best-and-fairest award.
Vince polled 43 votes to win the Malcolm Blight Medal ahead of classy forward Jason Porplyzia (41).
Skipper Simon Goodwin (39) finished third while Michael Doughty, Graham Johncock and promising key forward Kurt Tippett rounded out the top six on 38 votes.
Vince, who was a member of this year's preliminary 40-man All-Australian squad, played all 24 matches this season and recorded the eighth-most possessions of any player in 2009 (659) at an average of 27.5 per game.
Highlighting his consistency was the fact that he polled votes in all but two games.
Meanwhile, the Crows announced that Tippett had signed a two-year contract extension which will see him remain at West Lakes until at least the end of the 2012 season.
The 22-year-old, who was drafted from Southport in Queensland, booted 55 goals this year including a seven-goal haul against Essendon in round 11 and was a prime target for the new Gold Coast Football Club which will enter the competition in 2011.
Adelaide also confirmed that veterans Goodwin, Brett Burton, Tyson Edwards and Andrew McLeod had agreed to one-year deals while Brent Reilly and Trent Hentschel have secured contract extensions.
