We can cover Fraser’s absence: Burns
July 4th 2008 05:52
COLLINGWOOD has the depth to cover the absence of number one ruckman Josh Fraser for Saturday night's clash against Sydney at ANZ Stadium, according to skipper Scott Burns.
Burns said Chris Bryan and Cameron Wood were more than capable of handling the workload in the ruck.
The Magpies veteran also said his side was more concerned about covering the loss of key forward Anthony Rocca, who suffered a season-ending achilles injury in the loss to the Western Bulldogs at Telstra Dome in round 13.
“Woody (Cameron Wood) and Chris Bryan were really good last week (against the Western Bulldogs) so I think that will cover Josh’s absence a fair bit,” Burns said.
“Anthony’s the one that’s probably a little bit (more) disappointing because he’s got a reasonable record against Sydney and we need him to straighten us up a fair bit.
“We’ll have to work around that one.”
