Welsh to miss four matches

ESSENDON vice-captain Andrew Welsh will miss four matches after an unsuccessful trip to the AFL Tribunal on Tuesday night.
Welsh plead guilty to kneeing Hawthorn's Xavier Ellis but attempted to have the misconduct charge downgraded from reckless to intentional - which would have resulted in just a two-game suspension.
But the tribunal upheld the match review panel's decision, meaning the Bombers midfielder will miss matches against Port Adelaide, St Kilda, Richmond and the Western Bulldogs.
Brisbane defender Matt Maguire will face the tribunal on Wednesday evening to contest a rough conduct charge against Sydney on-baller Jude Bolton.
