Worsfold defends Voss decision

WEST COAST coach John Worsfold has defended the appointment of former Brisbane Lions captain Michael Voss midway through the season.
Worsfold said he did not expect the appointment of Voss as an assistant coach for the next two seasons to affect his current coaching staff.
"We're not going to sit back and miss out on ... getting our best football structure in place because we want to sit back and wait until the season's finished," said Worsfold.
"I've got every faith that everyone that works at our footy club is professional enough to concentrate on their job and do that to the best of their ability throughout the remainder of the year."
Former Melbourne coach Neale Daniher is in contention to be appointed football operations manager while former Geelong and North Melbourne player Leigh Colbert has reportedly been approached by the Eagles.
But Worsfold said no further decisions had been made.
"I haven't flagged major changes within the football department but I've flagged that we're going to put the best possible structure in place going forward and that may mean keeping a lot of the same staff," he said.
"But that is going to be assessed over the remainder of this season and those decisions will be made as required to make sure we achieve the absolute best for this footy club going forward."
